I want you to learn how to speak SPANISH!

One time I got this comment on a post and it was all in Spanish. I thought that someone from another country had found my blog and was commenting on it. SO I went to the Google translation thing and I translated the comment. It was spam. An ad for cheap tshirts....but I am ok. I decided my fan base in other places that don't have the internet and therefore can't comment is much more important! (Hi Lynn) Anyway, I....well CARLOS is helping me change my look....kinda like my hair color...but it's all in Spanish currently, so brush up on your spanish people or use a translater! Adios! hahahha

Nobody likes a bully and a murderer....

I really don't like a bully that murders....I have given him chance after chance and he continued to bully everyone else. Finally today when I got to work I had enough. So this is what I did:

Don't feel sorry feel him. Feel sorry for the other guy who has half a tail and for all the other poor souls that died because he BIT them.

My fans....in prison...

A girl who used to go to House of Faith when she was in high school got put in prison a while back. She started writing me and I write her back.....After a while there is not much to say....so I thought, I will just send her copies of my blog...it has pictures, etc and I already wrote about what is going on. So I started sending them to her and I get a letter back from her that informs me that I am a DORK! That all her friends in prison think that I am a dork....but she said they loved to read my blog....I wanted to write back that I wasn't the dork in prison reading a blog...but I didn't. I did tell her in my last letter that I was going to write about all of them reading my blog! So yeah, I have a fan base....female prisoners in Texas. Life is good.

Big Fat LIAR!!

Well, that big fat liar is ME! I noticed in many of my previous postings I always mention what awesome, wonderful and interesting things that I am doing and PROMISE to post more about them soon. And of course I never do. So I apologize for lying and will now keep my word!

FIRST: www.tableturners.com/shop VISIT!!! I have been making record bracelets and have sold quite a few at different shows that Carlos has done. Last year I designed some shirts based on Mat 25:1-13, the parable of the 10 virgins and keeping watch.

SECOND: I took on two more cases with CASA http://www.childadvocates.org/ and I think that EVERYONE should be one. Obviously I can't talk about those, other than to say that all is going well and under control.

THIRD: I got sick on Monday and was throwing up. I think I caught Carrie's sickness, thanks ever so much and always wash your hands after reading a sick persons blog! www.thekateeffect.typepad.com

FOURTH: I am working out every Mon-Wed-Fri and have been since May. I look cute.

FIFTH: The house that we are going to be moving into will hopefully be finished by December.

SIXTH: I know there is more but right now I have to go make some totally cute and interesting kool aid coin purses. Yes, I will post pics next!!!!

I Almost Died

Lesson 1:
Always SCRUB your hands after touching a jalapeno.

I cut up two jalapeno's to put in this salsa and I thought to myself, I should wash my hands...no, I was in a hurry, I will just make sure I don't touch my eye cause that junk burns. I boiled some water for my tea, and was putting the pot up when I sneezed. Then I rubbed my nose and then I almost died. I swear I snorted a seed or something up my nose! I was yelling and blowing my nose and rubbing it....the juice was still on my hands (I am a dummy) so I washed my hands really fast but it was too late....one nostril was all red and burning! So for like an hour I kept a wet paper towel on my nose. Dang. So right now my nose is a little sore, but no more burning. That was not a good start to my week but at least I am alive.

Alexis

Well Victoria left for Florida and Carlos and I got Alexis. We weren't too sure at first how she would do. Everyone always says how hard she is, but we never had any trouble with her. She got bossy sometimes but usually when she was tired. Today she got kinda whiny so off to bed we went for a nap. She knocked right out. She turned TWO today, so we are going to have a little celebration after her nap. Carlos just came in while I was typing this and started talking, she heard him and woke up! I patted her and she went back to sleep. We are hoping for at least an hour nap before we go so that she won't be cranky when we go watch her cousin Chris play football. As you can tell.....we've been teaching her things....hope her Mama doesn't get mad....LOL!! You gotta give 'em a little something to take home you know!!!

I love you even when you don't love me.

Saturday I was outside with our neighbors and I could tell it was one of those days. A day where something had happened and you couldn't put your finger on it but everyone was in a bad mood and picking on each other. Ashley and I had a battle of wills. She was really mad at her brother and picked up this piece of chalk and was about to throw it. I told her if you throw that chalk and break it Ashley you are going home. She and I stared at each other and she tossed it to the grass. It didn't break. She and I both looked at it and I was trying to decide if I should send her home. I decided I would at the same time she decided I was mean. She took off to her house and cried and cried and cried. I told her she could come back the next day. So on Sunday I was outside and she came over and we were having a snack and I called her to come stand in front of me. I looked into her eyes and I said, I love you Ashley, do you love me? She said she did. I told her that I loved her yesterday even when she was mad at me. Did she love me yesterday? Nope. But you love me today? Yeah. I told her that I loved her even when she didn't love me. Little did I know what a huge deal this was going to be. We now tell each other we love each other all the time....even when we are mean and mad. She checks to make sure that I love her brothers too. She tells me that she loves ME even when I am mean. (although I am not mean and Adrian totally sticks up for me telling Ashley that I give them snacks so that's not mean) But yeah.

So about the nail polish....

I just want to say that I think that black nail polish is hot. What's better than that though? Pure Ice Scandal. It's made by Pure Ice and is like $1.73 at Wal-Mart and a super deep dark purple black. I got a Seventeen magazine in the mail and they were showing all these girls with black polish...it was the new thing...blah blah blah...I was totally onto that waaay before Seventeen was....but if Carlos has anything to say about it he would ask me WHY was I paying attention to ANYTHING that magazine had to say when I was about be twenty-SEVEN??? This would be my reply: I don't know. It was in the mail box so I read it. Whatever. Black nail polish is hot.

So, do you still cut hair?

No. I don't cut hair and I never have. But she thought I did. And has thought I cut hair for years. Every time I saw her, she would ask me to cut her hair. I would be like, no....I don't cut hair. But you know, I am different these days. And while I was rinsing off the drive way last night she pulled up and asked me, "So, do you still cut hair??". NO!! I don't cut hair, but I will cut yours. This morning I went to Wal Mart, got me some PINK scissors and NEON clips cause you know, if I am gonna do it, I am gonna do it cute. I also bought some new nail polish which I will talk about in another post. Anyway, she came over and I hooked her up. Well, it went like this: What do you want me to do to your hair? Layer it. I can't do layers. Oh. Well just do a "v" cut. I don't know how to do that. I don't cut hair. Oh yeah. Well just trim it to here. Ok. In the end, we both looked cute.

Seriously though, I am practicing spiritual principles:
Matt 10:4242 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." NIV
Matt 6:19-21
19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. NIV
Jer 17:10
10 "I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind,to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve." NIV
It's fun.

I want my bolt back!

Yesterday I watched this clip on Extreme Prophetic:
http://extremeprophetic.com/videoplay.php?id=http://www.propheticmedia.com/video/video_email_media/8_22_07_Weblist_BobbyConner_RestorationHIGH.wmv

Bobby Connor talked about declaring things and he also told a story about losing his pocket knife and then saying that he wanted he knife back and it appeared. Hmmm, well I thought a lot about that and I decided it seemed like sound teaching.

Later that evening, Carlos and I were doing lawn work and while he was in the shed working on the weed eater, he dropped a bolt to it. I was still mowing and he was looking for it, pulling weeds looking all through the grass. I went over there and I sat down and just said, I want my bolt back. Carlos took over the mowing and I still sat there. I looked at the grass and I said, I want my bolt back. Then I told Jesus that I didn't know where that bolt was, but He did, and would He show me. I picked up the weed eater and moved it out of the way and walked up to shed squatted down, moved the grass out of the way and there it was. HAHAHAHAHA!!

LOVE IT!

God is just too much fun!!

How could this happen in my neighborhood?

Wall across from San Jacinto school before

Big government: The term is mainly used to evoke criticism of a government which is believed to be excessively large and costly, with too many programs that interfere on too many areas of public life.

http://www.gosanangelo.com/news/2007/aug/22/council-plans-will-curb-graffiti-vandals/

“I was so devastated,” she said. “I actually became physically ill. I felt nauseated. My first question is, ‘How could this happen in my neighborhood?’”

Physically ILL?? How could this happen in my neighborhood? The worst part of that statement is that its focusing on PAINT. Not on the root issues that are causing and allowing someone to go and paint someones fence with “gang related” graffiti.

So the real issue is that there is gang activity in San Angelo. After several years of it being down, it is starting to resurface. I would say that is where you target all your time and energy.

Instead, there are LAWS that are trying to be passed like, “anyone without legal guardianship who provides aerosol paint to a minor — whether it’s a retailer making a sale or a friend passing a can — faces the same fine.” and “Under the law, private-property owners must sign the form and let the city clean the vandalism or clean the graffiti themselves within the 10 days. Otherwise, the city can declare the property a nuisance, levy a fine of $200 to $500 against the owner, and abate the graffiti anyway.”

Those are laws that make me as a private citizen nervous. What is considered graffiti? When is it ART? What is legal graffiti? What if I get permission to paint something on a wall and I choose to paint in a graffiti style?? I am now in trouble, I get fined, and my art is painted over. And why is it going to be against the law to allow someone under the age of 18 to use an spray can???? As a property owner if I choose to have something on my property I can be fined for not “cleaning” it up.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like bombings on buildings anymore than the next person, but I think that instead of trying to deal with it in that manner, we need to attempt to deal with it in another way.

Also, ask yourself this, what are you so afraid of? Fear of anything gang related has already given them power. Become a force in your neighborhood. What kind of neighbor are you? Are you the type that peeks out your window all day and watches those little “thugs” walk past your house? Do you shake your head at them in disgust? Are you the kind who looks the other way when they walk past you in the mall? Be a positive force in you neighborhood. Here is an idea, go by a 12 pack of sodas and put them in your fridge. The next time those kids walk by, ask them if they want a soda. Then ask them their names. Wave at them as they walk by. Let them know that you see them and are watching them. SMILE at the kids that you pass in the mall. Rather than disgust, why don’t you think about what they must be dealing with at home if they are out running the streets. Make a difference in a positive life changing way instead of being a whiner.

Before we start making rules and regulations lets make an effort to curb this stuff with different tactics like paying attention to the things that going on around us. And yes, by all means, PAINT OVER any vandalism on your property and remember: Darn kids?! Were you never a “darn kid”??

That Thin Line....

It was a cool day in August….yes, it really was, and I was sitting on the front porch with the kids across the street. We were eating sunflower seeds and drinking sodas. Adrian found a cat and had been holding it prisoner in his house so that it wouldn’t run away. He and I were talking about how cats don’t like to be held prisoner…and that if he would let it go and keep food out, it would come back. Now this cat was very good natured. It let Adrian just flop it around all over the place. He decided that he would let it go. So as we were sitting there watching the cat walk away, Adrian asks me THE question….”So how do cats have babies anyway??” I sat there and I stared at the cat…and I shrugged my shoulders and said, “I don’t know, I guess they just hang around boy cats.” I sat very still and didn’t look at him……and we watched Suzie the cat play…..I could hear the sound of crickets suddenly…and the wheels in his head turning…..and then the loud slurping of his soda….and then Ashley showed that she had drawn spunch bop with her shalks.

Just one of the perfect days.....

Today the rain from hurricane Erin has been hovering all over us. Nice, easy, peaceful rain. It's one of those days that makes you not want to do anything. When Carlos and I woke up this morning it was all we could do to get out of bed! It has gone from a drizzle to a heavy rain. Just one of those days that make you feel lazy! Right now I am watching an old movie called The Blue and the Gray and drinking tea!! I am about to eat a bacon, tomoato and swiss cheese wrap.

I wrote that yesterday....well, it basically never stopped raining. When we got up TODAY, the ceiling above the bathroom was totally dripping water. We poked a hole in the sheetrock and all this water poured out....we actually don't know where the hole in the roof is and Carlos couldn't look for it cause he had to come finish this room he is painting. It's all good. Hopefully we can get it together before Hurrican Dean hits on THURSDAY!!! The pics I posted are of the park flooded. When Carlos got home at like 2AM all he said was, "ALL of San Angelo is flooded!"

Meanwhile, I am making all kinds of awesome things. I will post those soon.

Hot Tea

While I was in Nashville I was RE-introduced to hot tea. It sounds weird, but I never really liked hot tea. I love coffee with heavy cream and splenda. I drink that every morning and I adore it. Most of the bridal party were tea drinkers and my new friend Sindi offered to make me some. I was thinking to myself, oh my gosh, I will drink anything with some caffeine in it right now. So she made me this chocolate mocha tea, put some creamer in it and it was SOOOOOOOOOO good. Wow! I could feel the caffeine slowly seeping into my brain and I sighed with pleasure. I was now addicted to hot tea. Later I found out that there was no caffeine in the tea I had been drinking. It scares me because I now think I have a serious problem, but I think I will just ignore it. Anyway. Then my friend Verna gave me a gift from South Africa. Tea. Rooibos tea. When Carlos came back from South Africa he was ALL about that tea. We tried to make it but it just never tasted right to him. He kept saying it just wouldn’t taste as good unless it was made from the hands of a South African woman. Oh my gosh. Whatever. I can sooo make good tea now….although maybe it was just that I was influenced by two South African women….

Day Star Tribe I am NOW available

SO the past few days Carlos and I have been painting a baby room. Yes, ME TOO!! You would be surprised to see me, I know it, but I really did help. It’s a safari room and Carlos drew it all and then drew it on the wall. Then I go in and paint all the main parts and he comes back and does all the shading. Who knows, maybe I will be a great artist some day! I will make sure and show the latest pictures, but for now, here are the ones as we progress. We are videoing it so as soon we are done and Carlos puts the video up, I will make sure and show you. I have discovered I have a huge talent in matching paints. For real. I totally can mix them right on. I don’t know what that means…maybe a job at paint store?? What does this newly discovered talent mean? We shall see. I do think that I am going to talk to the members of Day Star Tribe and let them know that if they want me to be a part of the crew I am open to it.

I'm baaacckkk!!

I really thought that while I was in Nashville, I would be able to blog, but no I was waaay too busy. It was a lot of fun. I liked Nashville I thought that is was a nice place to be and I didn't even see any "sights".

Getting there was so great. I was nervous the closer it got, then I just told the Holy Spirit that I wanted Him to go with me. I decided to be very symbolic and make sure that on the drive over there, nothing was in the passenger seat and when I had an available seat next to me I was thinking that He was there. I made all the connections and even got the rental car with the GPS navigational system in it. Oh my goodness, that was sooo awesome. I just put in the address and it took me straight there.

God really was just there the whole time for me. I was taken out of my comfort zone but in trusting in the Lord, I was fine. I was stretched spiritually and the Lord blessed me.

There was so much GODLY fellowship there. I don't have that here in San Angelo with anyone. Not like that. It was the kind of time where you don't have to say anything and you can sit together and it still be fellowship. Our conversation was Godly, about Him, flavored with Him and it was so Good. I didn't have to be anything for anyone, just be myself and was uplifted in it. It was so refreshing.

The Groom's dad prophesied over me at the rehearsal. Then he stopped by the house after the wedding and preached to the group of us that was there and prophesied over Carlos, and two other people there. It was just awesome. We went and prayed for a friends mom who is in the hospital with cancer. We declared freedom and healing over her. Just this group of us who don't even know each other, but we all have the same spirit in us and we were UNIFIED through it.

Carlos and I got to spend some really great time together. I came home refreshed and that is saying alot for being gone for 5 days for a wedding.

I have a couple of other things that are going on, but I will post them up later. If you want to see the pictures of the wedding, go to geocities.com/vernasbridalshower. I will post them up as I get them, there is also going to be a video of the wedding.

What have yoi been doing Rooobbeerrtt?

That is a line off of the Incredibles that Carlos, Celeste and I always repeated to each other.

So right now...dang...I am sitting on my bed about to finish packing for my trip to Nashville but my back is sun burned...or tanning bed burned. I wanted to even out the color a bit on my back for the wedding that I am going to be in and I got burned in the tanning bed. I have light bulb lines on my back now. LOL!! It's ok, I think that it will even out by Saturday, but it was truly an experience.

Carlos left on....Friday and I really missed him. I had a family reunion on Saturday and that was a lot of fun. And since then, I have been running errands and tying up all my loose ends before I leave. You should read Carlos' blog cause he is at a camp in San Diego...omoteach.blogspot.com.

I hope that I will have some time to blog while I am in Nashville. Well...till we meet again!!
