Does Music Get To Your Nerves?

Carlos and I were in Nashville for the GMA's. No we didn't go to the Dove Awards - evidently they are stupid - full of takes and retakes - and stuffy people...we had a Peanut Butter and Jelly Party on a rooftop. It was awesome. On the way up to the rooftop, I was walking with this guy and he asked me if Carlos' music ever got on my nerves. Since he is a dj, sometimes he works with a 15 second piece that he plays over and over and over again. Then once it is all done, we listen to the set in the car. So yes, I told him, I DO get sick of listening to his music....but never so much as right now. I am in the living room and he keeps playing the first 10 seconds of the song, La Cucaracha....over and over and over.....enough said.

ABC News: Is America Addicted to Porn

Just got through watching the above on ABC's site. Check it out: FACE OFF I really appreciated the entire debate - there is honor on both sides for the other. Much nicer than the debates that you might see between candidates for the presidential election. Gonna call it a God Factor - because I think that since we are in a LOVE WAR - the Porn Pastor is doing an excellent job of calling sin what it is and loving without judgement those involved. I have been watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents on Netflix all evening long. Carlos pops in from time to time and we just stare....not horrified really, because its nothing new, but I think that watching something in black and white that is so obviously old, well you just don't expect the awful endings of them ALL. Shocking. Carlos just keeps saying how WEIRD he is. LOL!!

Duck Tales - Wooo Hooo!

Tonight Carlos and I stepped back into time and watched DUCK TALES! I remember when my brother and I would come home from school and watch this....for like years this was a favorite show. I think it still is....it was fun to watch it with Carlos, it brought back a lot of memories. :-) Carlos is actually not really watching itwith me...he is playing with some dj program on his computer...but you know, its still fun.

I Can't Help It!!!! Dumbledore and The Golden Compass

I resist for the most part getting involved in any kind of controversy like this - so much so that the emails that I have gotten regarding the movie The Golden Compass have been deleted with out reading them.

Starting this morning though, I was really hit with it - myspace is covered in The Golden Compass and I got yet ANOTHER email telling me how evil the movie was - honestly it really just made me want to throw up.

Don't get me wrong, I don't LIKE movies where evil is prevalent and made to some how appear right and good and heroic. It's sooo typical of Christian groups though, to get on this band wagon - just for "certain" things and talk and talk and talk - they put the people that create these things down and treat them like dirt. I don't think that these people for the most part are TRYING to be evil, but even if they are, can you "correct" them in love?? Could you possibly deal with an issue in love instead of looking down on them??

Try this: if you are going to be that hurt and upset over all of that "evil" stuff, hold yourself to that standard in everything!! It's always those that are the loudest in attacking something that usually have something to hide...you look like a fool and those that produce the movies and write the songs and books know just what you are going to say. THEY CALL YOU OUT!!

Of course she was totally right and about two hours after that article was out, Carlos sees a post on a Christian artists website about it....

I know I am ranting and that I am making that much sense....I would like to see some REAL people stand up for what is right - all the time. Not just when something huge like this comes along. This movie didn't jump up out of nowhere. (the guy wrote the BOOK in 1996) We have been prepared and courted and groomed for this movie in thousands of different ways for YEARS. It's kinda like trying to say that being "gay" is sooo wrong, and you lying on your taxes is OK. So today or yesterday or last week, if you lied to someone don't say a WORD about that movie. No one wants to hear it. When your life reflects Christ and you can talk to someone in love and explain to them why the movie or the books might be negative then you can say something but till then, hush and please please please, don't embarrass me....don't call yourself a "Christian" and scream and yell and get stupid about this....because there are a million other things that need to be dealt with before you attempt to take a stand about a freaking MOVIE.

I sooo totally love this movie! It is really funny and I caught a lot of deep meanings all through it...I know, I know...its a kids movie, but you know! Anyway, its a great movie and I ranked up there with Incredibles! The clip above is my favorite part of the movie!!

Talking some TRANSFORMER Trash

Last night, my brother, Carlos and I went to see the movie Transformers. I was looking forward to seeing it, I had heard from lots of different people how good it was, so I didn't expect it to be as incredibly STUPID as it was. Someone told me that people cheered in this movie! FOR WHAT? I have no idea. I spoke with this lady in the bathroom cause we both left at the same time and I don't think she was very impressed either, she wanted to go see 1408....I digress....
The lines in the movie were like something off the Disney Channel...the leading lady was incredibly cliche and so obviously just there as eye candy....the parents were typical, stupid...and the little jibe about the President, obviously aimed at George Bush. The bad good guys were so NORMAL, I am sure that if we did a search on their lines we would find them in 10 other movies. I am trying to not rant here....wow.



My favorite bad scenes/lines are as follows:

"This is my do-whatever-I-like-and-get-away-with-it badge."
"Are you masturbating?"
"The kind of classified that can put me into prison classified"
"I've got a weakness for hot guys with tight abs and big arms."
There is this once scene where Micaela is talking to Sam and SHE LICKS HER LIP....like it so freaking obvious.....
The constant mis-pronunciation of their last name Witwicky
Another scene where the "hot geek" girl tells the "only guy in the whole world that can crack the code" to use a computer and hook it up to the Morse code machine and she is holding a MONITOR.
The come sit in my lap cause I am the only one with the seat belt line.....

I could go on and on...and I just might come back and ad some more....So basically, it was such an annoying movie, I totally wasted FREE movie passes on it and $3.75 for my diet coke. I wasted my evening....should have walked out but didn't.....
