Strike

I'm currently on strike, although it hasn't helped me out much at all. My demands haven't been met, my pleadings have fallen on deaf ears, my last resort really wasn't .....so here we are. My strike will probably end Jan 1....or earlier...maybe....until then, this silence has had a purpose...although not the one I intended.

Mushy Mind

That's what I have - a mushy mind. This past month or so has been pretty crazy - we moved, Carlos was gone a lot, I had several trainings to go to, during my lunch break I have been listening to talk radio and becoming increasingly appalled at the state of our nation AND to top it off - last week Carlos and I got sucked into Lost....we have watched it on netflix which I guess is a good thing? Or maybe not cause we just watch one episode right after the other and the knowledge that there are about 60 more episodes to watch...well it makes it all the more intense...I think this is probably the first time that Carlos and I have watched something together that we BOTH enjoyed and were into so much. Where was I 3 years ago when this all started? I don't know. Last night to combat the mushy mind we went out walking for about an hour and theorized on what exactly was going on at the island, what would happen next, etc....all in all its been really fun, we have enjoyed just hanging out together. On another note, I am struggling to blog because I twitter...it feels like blogging...mini blogging...it relieves my need to share whats going on and but this blog is left gathering internet dust....sad...oh well...btw, further proof that Carlos and I have been sucked into Lost is the fact that we used the nickname generator to come up with our own Lost nicknames...mine is Cue Ball....Carlos is Chicken Little....sigh....I wonder what is gonna happen next?

Why didn't I do this years ago????

I have a personal chef...yeah I do. There is a wonderful woman who started cooking for me and 2 of my coworkers...and she is awesome! There is just soooo much stress taken off me now. She delivers 3 meals on Monday's and they last the whole week....so now I just need someone to clean my house....or do my laundry.....seriously though if you haven't thought about hiring someone to cook for your family, you should. I get home, heat up the oven pop whatever it is in and 20 min later I have a home cooked meal plus sides....and she makes them all low carb. Yippeee!!! I just wish I had done this years ago....Carlos wouldn't have been able to complain near as often about the fact that I didn't ever make meals....poor guy went hungry.

I know I know I know.....

I promise I will try to do better....sooo Christmas. I took ALL of my Christmas Decorations down on the 21st cause I lost my Christmas Spirit. I was trying to hold onto it but I think I had so many Christmases BEFORE Christmas that I was done. My house just seemed like a mess and I got this urge to clean and I took it further than I realized I would when I started. Oh well. We did have fun and we spent it with all KINDS of family. I am excited about the new year. Someone said, "Eight was great but Nine is mine". Yeah it is.

Like or LIKELIKE??

A 10yr old on LIKE vs LIKE-LIKE
So do we like or like like him? And what does that mean really?

According to the younger generation this is how you know if you like or like-like someone...If you LIKE someone when they look at you, you want to just scream. If you LIKE-LIKE someone you look at their picture and you talk about them all the time. You should also be able to look into their eyes and find love. They must also be kind. If you LIKE-LIKE someone you can hold hands and they will hug you. Evidently it is not uncommon for the one that you LIKE-LIKE to be LIKE-LIKED by several others. In fact, you might also find that the young man has 3 or 4 girlfriends...sooo that was very enlightening. I also heard of another young man who was so scared of his other girlfriend that he chose to stay with her rather than be with the one that he truly LIKE-LIKED. Staring at the one that you like all during lunch is how you show them that you like them...God save us from the pressures of 3rd grade...

Nasty

Hotels are nasty...plain and simple...even if you stay in a really nice one, they still don't clean the toilets, or put new glasses in you room, they just wipe everything down. Its gross. But at least if you stay in a really nice one then you don't have to deal with a lot of things like, bugs or general nastiness. I stayed at a 2.75 star hotel. I had a worm on the side of the tub, (don't know if you can tell), and used my shirt as a pillow case cover....

It Never Ends....

So I went on a trip for work and I thought that I had a great plan....I would let the cat out when I left and my sister in law would come and let it in for the night, and then she would come back this morning and let it back out....thats the normal schedule anyway...you know...but it didn't work that way. When I walked in the door I knew my plan had failed. I followed my nose praying that it wasn't in Carlos' room, thankfully it wasn't. I knew the smell was in our bedroom....I didn't know what to pray for, I just prayed it wasn't on the bed....I walked around the room and then I saw it....on my pants...that were layed out on my bed....unfortunately it soaked through my pants, through the comforter, through the top sheet...all the way though to the mattress protector. So much for a relaxing day at home. I am doing laundry with candles lit all through out the house. Yes Carlos, its still worth it to have the cat.

Update: ***After much feedback and mostly because Carlos told me that was the grossest photo he had seen on the internet in a long time...I took it off, so if you haven't seen it...sorry, call Carlos.

I NEVER watch tv...it just doesn't happen, but last night I turned it on cause I was gonna be packing and cleaning. On almost every freaking channel was the Democratic National Convention OR Football....I thought that I was going to die....did every channel have to broadcast the convention??? wow.

It must be the box....

Yesterday I went to the post office to mail a package of stuff to some kids. I had this box at home from like - 2 years ago - when we were going to mail a friend a christmas gift. I thought, the kids would like it and I didn't have anything else to use....evidently a Christmas box in August is an open invitation to talk to me in line. The guy behind me looked at my name and saw that we had the same last name and thought that standing next to each other in line with the same last name at the post office was a once in a lifetime experience. Carlos asked me if I told him about Jesus and I said no, cause the guy in front of me decided I looked like someone that he went to school with that had the same last name I had and was a light complected hispanic-I was like, hate to break it to 'ya but I am W H I T E and I just married the last name - wasn't born with it. It just got worse - and I really think my last name is rather normal here in texas - in fact I found out there are like 15000 people with my name in the world sooo not so weird.
