Suushiiii

Doesn't that look good? It looks absolutely beautiful to me....but WHY is it so disgusting??? I am on a mission to find sushi that I like. I know two things: 1)If its raw its gross 2)If it's made with fish its even worse. LOL!! So anybody make a dessert sushi? I am going to try a cucumber and something on Thursday when we go to the Sushi Bar for Happy Hour. Carlos and I went last week....great atmosphere....yucki sushi. My brother would tell me that I need a life....actually, he wants to go to the sushi bar with Carlos mostly...I just get to come because I am a wife...I will let you know if my experience with sushi improves any.

The Cut

Last night I drove my route, picking up kids to take them to The Refuge...I feel like I can't explain to you what it's like to drive this 15 passenger van filled with kids....and then to share with you the things that they say, it almost sounds stupid to repeat it. Mostly because it's incredibly cliche' and if you watched it on TV, you would groan at such bad jokes....but when it's seriously coming out of a kids mouth it's AWESOME! So here goes....Cody is once again a part of this little story. He gets into the van and says to me, "I got cut from the baseball team today." I said, "CODY! I am sooo sorry. What happened? WHY???" He says, "There are people who are better than me, but it's ok cause I am the manager and I can still go on trips and get a athletic period." I still feel soo sorry for him so I say again, "I am so sorry that you got cut. That just sucks." Dallas turns around and looks him up and down and says, "Where did you get cut at?" AHHHH!!!! I died laughing. Cody gives her this absolutley WITHERING glare and said, "CUT from the TEAM."

Taking Cody home at night is everyones favorite ride. Cody lives down a loooong dirt rode that has HUGE potholes and they are one right after the other. So we drive to Cody's house and drop him off, and then the fun begins....all the boys get on top of the seats. They are actually laying on the back of the seats holding on tight and I drive as "fast" as I can (try 10mph) through the potholes and they see who can stay on....these are like 13-14-15 year old boys doing this....it's always something new or weird happening...keeps me entertained!

Alfred Hitchcock

I have been watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents on Netflix all evening long. Carlos pops in from time to time and we just stare....not horrified really, because its nothing new, but I think that watching something in black and white that is so obviously old, well you just don't expect the awful endings of them ALL. Shocking. Carlos just keeps saying how WEIRD he is. LOL!!

The Skinny

So I am headed to the gym to work out when it hits me: TODAY is a holiday....that means that the gym will be packed with teenagers with raging hormones....like 14 and 15 year olds with raging hormones. The gym is almost like going to the beach and no matter what the season is there are always little shorts all over the place..so I am like....just go and work out - it can't be that bad....oh my - have you ever been to the gym when kids are in there? Do you know how they "work out"?? First they all come inside in groups of 3 -5. They ALL walk to a machine and stand around it and they ALL use it. OR they SIT on the machines and watch every one OR they get on the stair stepper for 5 min then they leave and go to the bathroom and come back and use the ab machine FOREVER and then walk around and talk to each other in little groups in FRONT of the machine that you really really want to be on...there is this hum in the air and its NOT the treadmill.....it the hormones.....So here I am, an adult, married woman who just wants to get her regular work out done at a time when there are usually only 2 old people in the whole gym. To make matters worse there really was an older woman on the stair stepper next to me SINGING to her mp3 player...can you guess how loud that was??? From there my day just went down hill....My mp3 player died, I had no water because I forgot it and the gym was humming.....so I spent 20 min and then ran for my life. My new philosophy??? Skinny 13 year olds shouldn't even be allowed in the doors......

Myspace moods....

I am just totally freaked out right now. I was checking my myspace and I saw this little girls profile...well she used to be little I think that she is 18 now, but anyway she just had a baby and I was looking at the pictures....she just updated her profile and it says her mood is: horny.

So like...what do you do with that? Call her man and say - your wife is horny man better get home quick....and then there are all the other weird moods like...virginal??? Understimulated? Overstimulated...sweaty...hot...flirty...I mean...EWWWWWWW. I don't even WANT TO KNOW THIS STUFF!!!! Especially not about little kids that I used to see all the time.

Wow.

That stuff is so weird anyway...like you are supposed to be able to look at someones profile and instead of being like, hey how are you, just look at their mood and see...they are feeling JEDI. Oooo, or how about PIRATE....are you feeling catalyzed today? What the heck is that anyway? I was looking through to see if the Seven Dwarves were in there...sneezy, grumpy....lol

My mood after writing this blog??? ELECTRIC....zap zap!

Conversation

Last night I was running my regular route, picking up kids for our Wednesday night event. My list was short, only 2 kids. Cheyenne who is in the 7th grade and Cody who is in the 9th grade. Conversation was crazy...you never know what you are gonna talk about or hear when you are in the van. My most exciting bit of convo went like this:

Cody: "I got an i-phone for christmas"

Cheyenne: "Oh my gosh! I didn't know those things were real!!! I thought that they were only on Hannah Montanna!!!"

I didn't even flinch. I let that just go right on by.

The trip home I had way more kids. Evidently ALL the parents were at work and church because they all kept telling me that no one was at their house.....yeah right.

THEN a conversation starts up between a guy and this girl about how they can't remember their phone numbers....like oh my gosh! I just can't ever remember it! I like, totally have to put it in my phone or I forget it! hehehe! Again, I don't say anything and just roll my eyes.

I wonder if it can get better than this?

My Fake Baby

So I was looking through different news headlines and saw one several days ago about how "fake babies" are becoming more and more popular in England and the US. I was thinking what the heck is a fake baby and so I watched this 5 part series called My Fake Baby on youtube. They won't let you put it on your blog, so if you want to watch it, you will have to go to youtube.com to search for it. Anyway - it's totally possible to see how there could come a point in our lifetimes when technology and artistry meet to the point that someone really could have a fake baby and you wouldn't even know it.

http://www.peachesandcreamnursery.com/adoptedbabys1.htm is a site that features EXTREMELY life like dolls. These dolls can have breathing mechanisims you can put in them as well as squirming and crying mechanisims. It was really amazing. I think that the problem comes when you fill the empytiness or hurts that you have with a THING be it alive or not - God is the only one who can fill us up. Several of the ladies on the video say they know their dolls are dolls but you get the feeling now and then that's not the case....that it just goes too far.

After watching the series my sweet husband made me my own fake baby that I named Leroy and he is pictured below. I don't feed him or anything - he is on the Fridge so I guess if he gets hungry he can get down and get his own food.

Victoria came over for me to color her hair. It was my first time to color someone else's hair and I had just spent over an hour with her mom at a salon while she got HER hair done and I studied closely....so for my first time I did an ok job....Alexis was totally into it as well....she did her hair and her babies hair....ummm, so we turned my kitchen into a ghetto salon and got the job done...and like I always say...."Ghetto is as ghetto does!"

Twas The Month After Christmas

Twas The Month After Christmas
Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste.
All the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt---
I said to myself, as I only can
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"
So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie--not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Hello 2008! You are MY Year!!!

I feel like this year is gonna be BIG! That it's gonna include alot of changes - but that God's gonna take us to new places and use us to advance His Kingdom. Looking forward to all that He has to offer us!! I am starting off the New Year 2008 by accepting in Faith what the Word of God says to us:

18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.
Deut 8:18

11 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. 12 It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.
13 So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul- 14 then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. 15 I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied
.
Deut 11:11-15

My Christmas Gift

I asked God before Christmas for a few things. One thing that I asked Him for was to see the kids for Christmas. Yesterday Frances called me and told me that Juan was going to let her keep the kids till the 6th of January and that she would bring them by to see us. I took over 200 pictures, gave many hugs and kisses and maybe even got lice again! LOL!! Wow. Anyway, sometimes I would wonder if I would ever get to see them again and I would just be sooo sad wanting to hug them and hold their hands again. After 9 long months, I finally got to! What a wonderful gift!!!

No Sugar Plumb Visions Here....

There aren't sugar plumb's dancing through my head right now....just invitations...stamps...stars...glitter....we are getting ready for Carlos' mom's party and we are making all of the invitations by hand. So Carlos, Victoria and I are tying bows, cutting, and stamping all of these invitations, not to mention the fact that we are addressing and mailing them out. It's a lot of work. Sometimes I wonder if saving all of the money on invitations is worth it when it's 10:51 PM and I am just now getting to bed....good bonding and family time for all of us though and that is....PRICELESS.

WooooHOOOOO!

You know why I look so retarded? Cause my very first ride at Six Flags was The Titan. Needless to say, I was NOT prepared and all I kept thinking on that ride was my head could just get snapped off if something happened and we flew off the track....the last 6 seconds was fun which is why I am smiling. My hair evidently was jacked for a minute cause this little girl turned around and looked at me while we were coming back and laughed. So did Carlos and I kinda fixed it before he snapped this picture. The rest of the roller coasters were great, but wow....that first one got me.

A Day Filled With Dance Moves

Living with Carlos is ALWAYS an adventure. I am sure that the kids that we took to Six Flags on Saturday would agree. And any time you are with Carlos your time is filled with music and on a good day - dance moves. Since we were with Eva, Alfonzo and CARLOS - you got triple the dose. On our drive to Dallas we made 2 Cupid Shuffle stops. One of the kids that we took named Trevor makes all these routines up in his head. He likes to show them to everyone too. I thought that you might enjoy watching a bit of what our "dance stops" looked like - keep in mind the dancing throughout the day also included all the music at the park and I WISH I had some pictures of that. LOL!!

I do apologize for the shaking and yelling on the video.....I couldn't help it.

Just a Typical Day In The Office

I know, you aren't quite sure what this is all about....that's what I am here for...We don't have hot water at the office right now because of some remodeling. When we wash dishes we have to heat the water up. Well my Dad being who he is likes to use these HUGE coffee pots. When they are filled with water they are too heavy for me, but since he was here, he wanted to use them and he would pour it in the sink....okay....so far so good....it's kinda crazy how it happened....so here goes....See this little cutie?

Well I took the blue lid off and used the soap inside the last time I washed dishes. The lid was upside down in the sink and my dad put that huge coffee pot in the sink and filled it with water. The lid suctioned to the bottom of the coffee pot. We didn't notice it and he just sat the pot on the burner. I was sitting at my desk and I kept looking at the stove and I thought to my self, wow, that fire is high. (It is a gas stove) It just got bigger and bigger and then I realized something was wrong. So I calmly said, "Dad....whats on fire in here?" He rushed in and blew it out and it took us FOREVER to figure out what that burnt blue thing was....

Artist to Dj and Everything In Between!

Carlos has been getting after it the past couple of months. Yesterday he was painting a sign for a friend of his. The past 3 weeks, he was at a local church and he did their back drop for a sermon series called "Bling" and then he and his turntables were part of the Sunday morning worship band (3 services). Thought you might like to see one of my favorite pieces he has done and see a clip of practice for the worship service.
