So sorry - a bit behind since Day 1 was Monday...but you know...I have KIDS now.....Anyway, let me tell you about my mornings....I get up and I make me some chai tea and I sit on the couch. Alexis loves Chai tea. She hovers around me when ever she sees my mug....she asks - whats in there? (Like she doesn't know) I tell her and she asks for some, but its too hot for her to drink. I mean this is a ritual! We go through this everytime I drink the tea. I tell her to put her hand on the mug and she feels how hot it is so she looks at me and asks, "Your not gonna drink it all?" I assure her that I will not. She waits - staring at me - while I drink the tea....she'll come over to me and look INTO the cup to make sure there is still some in there. Then she'll feel the cup again. When she thinks its not too hot she tells me and I let her take a taste with the spoon. If she is good to go then I drink almost all the rest of it and she takes the cup to the table to drink the rest, reminding me to take the tea bag out cause she doesn't like it. I have thought about making Alexis her OWN cup but its more fun to share - and watch her wait!!

Day 1 of Kid Week

Nasty
Hotels are nasty...plain and simple...even if you stay in a really nice one, they still don't clean the toilets, or put new glasses in you room, they just wipe everything down. Its gross. But at least if you stay in a really nice one then you don't have to deal with a lot of things like, bugs or general nastiness. I stayed at a 2.75 star hotel. I had a worm on the side of the tub, (don't know if you can tell), and used my shirt as a pillow case cover....

It Never Ends....
So I went on a trip for work and I thought that I had a great plan....I would let the cat out when I left and my sister in law would come and let it in for the night, and then she would come back this morning and let it back out....thats the normal schedule anyway...you know...but it didn't work that way. When I walked in the door I knew my plan had failed. I followed my nose praying that it wasn't in Carlos' room, thankfully it wasn't. I knew the smell was in our bedroom....I didn't know what to pray for, I just prayed it wasn't on the bed....I walked around the room and then I saw it....on my pants...that were layed out on my bed....unfortunately it soaked through my pants, through the comforter, through the top sheet...all the way though to the mattress protector. So much for a relaxing day at home. I am doing laundry with candles lit all through out the house. Yes Carlos, its still worth it to have the cat.
Update: ***After much feedback and mostly because Carlos told me that was the grossest photo he had seen on the internet in a long time...I took it off, so if you haven't seen it...sorry, call Carlos.

I have been working really really hard lately and Carlos took pity on me and fed me - obviously I cheated. Carlos made so much fun of me because the color of my food was all the same - brown, tan, white - and he said that shows no variety and proves how unhealthy it is since there is no color to it....then he wanted me to take a picture of his food which I refused because his was way to colorful and would make me look bad....I must be really stressed out cause I went out to eat the next day with my boss and got the exact same thing. hehe! Yesterday I went to the post office to mail a package of stuff to some kids. I had this box at home from like - 2 years ago - when we were going to mail a friend a christmas gift. I thought, the kids would like it and I didn't have anything else to use....evidently a Christmas box in August is an open invitation to talk to me in line. The guy behind me looked at my name and saw that we had the same last name and thought that standing next to each other in line with the same last name at the post office was a once in a lifetime experience. Carlos asked me if I told him about Jesus and I said no, cause the guy in front of me decided I looked like someone that he went to school with that had the same last name I had and was a light complected hispanic-I was like, hate to break it to 'ya but I am W H I T E and I just married the last name - wasn't born with it. It just got worse - and I really think my last name is rather normal here in texas - in fact I found out there are like 15000 people with my name in the world sooo not so weird.

Meet my cousin MADELINE!! She was born yesterday morning and is super duper cute! She came a tad early since we haven't had her baby shower yet - but I think that's because she is gonna be a typical girl - wanting to be the center of attention!

On Saturday I night I ate at my sister in laws house. Her daughter is...6 years old (my favorite age). My SIL told me that he daughter had made up the cutest song and asked her to sing it for me. She wouldn't but she did whisper some of the lines in my ear....something about can you teach an alligator manners. SIL: We were singing it this morning and I heard her tell C....member that show...i made it different...so at breakfast I said hey C can you sing that song? And he sang it exactly and i said how did he know he said from the show then S said I changed it....it was exactly the same so I had to talk to her about what she was doing was lying and how it caused her one sin to multiply cuz she lied every time we sang it and when I told ya'll. After the sentences I talked to her about plagiarism and how its a from of stealing something and lying in saying its yours and how we can get in trouble in school with poems, songs, and writing....crazy...lol.
ME Wow. Can I laugh cause I really want to.
ME Thats awesome! Poor C....alll innocent singing the song. Can you imagine what was going through S's head????
Well, the texting kept going on...but I will leave you with that. My SIL actually ended up doing a great job teaching S about not doing that and even C learned about plagiarism. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall just to see S's face as her brother sang "her song" word for word. Could you tell that my SIL is a teacher? hehe!

I Set Off Metal Detectors....every time.
I have to go to court a lot with this new job (that I can't tell you about). When I know I have a hearing, I make sure that I don't wear belts or shoes with metal on them, etc. I always take off all of jewelry before I go through and I still set it off....my freaking BRA has metal in it...LOL!! So this is the way it goes, I walk in take off necklace, rings, bracelet, earrings. I don't take my cell phone in, or much of anything really. I give my files, my pen and my badge to the security guard and walk through. The alarm goes off - I look at the guy and say, just scan me. So I go around the table and I already know the drill so I stand with my arms raised and the scanner turns red and makes beeping noise when it goes over my boobs. Makes no noise anywhere else. Duh. I know they laugh at me EVERY time b/c it happens EVERY time.....rrrrrr!! They are bored.....

I decorated for a Spa night for single moms on Sunday. I used wine bottles that I wrapped in tissue paper and tied with ribbon. The table cloth was an old sheet that I dyed purple. This post is mostly for my Cousins who I am throwing a baby shower with in August. We will be using the colors brown, orange, teal and white. I decorated for a Spa night for single moms on Sunday. I used wine bottles that I wrapped in tissue paper and tied with ribbon. The table cloth was an old sheet that I dyed purple. This post is mostly for my Cousins who I am throwing a baby shower with in August. We will be using the colors brown, orange, teal and white. So this was a test for the center pieces and table cloths....well cousins? What do you think?

Honey Doooo
Carlos is a hard workin' honey! I got new shelves put into my closet! Yippeee! He is gonna be gone for like 5 weeks - so he did all this stuff around the house so I wouldn't have to mess with a bunch of things while he was gone. Isn't he a sweetie?

Someone tell me WHY they put an onion ring on their salads??? Are they trying to ruin my diet or what? Seriously - I see that onion ring and I am like...well they put it on there and I don't want to waste food so I will eat it...I would be better off with a single, tiny fry....but yeah, I ate the onion ring today...and I LIKED it.

The Cube
I got a new job -have I told you that? And I can't tell you about it (that's my dad's complaint) and I did have an office but then I got moved to the cube. I really like it cause its quiet, warm, and away from everyone else. The only draw back? It's a cube, its bland, its grey...so I slowly am starting to decorate it. Above is a video of that it looks like walking into my cube and then below is my decorating for the week. lol!

Cousin
Hey Cousin! This really only would affect YOU since I am sure you and I go to the same sites - and I don't want you being like, wow, val posts on like everyones blog like a crazy person (I just do that on yours) lol - BUT to anyone else out there who stumbles across my comment on a random blog or website, here is the deal: I am practicing good blogging, surfing manners. Few and Far Between
I am having a hard time blogging these days. It is not for lack of ideas, funny moments or rants either. Basically I have this new job and I can't tell you about it. LOL!! I always want to blog about things that happen here - but I could get fired for that, and my dad told me not to lose this job. THEN I feel like I have to be careful about the things that I rant about that are going on in the news because I don't want someone to find out that I write this blog and I work here and I said blah blah blah....soooooo, I need to stir up my creative juices and blog about things that don't matter all that much to the world....cause I know that this blog is always cutting edge. haha So this post is for my mom and Melissa who are the only ones who read regularly.
